We went for a one day 20 km (12 mile) hike from Oqaatsut to Ilulissat: our trip started with a boat ride, and ended with hitchhiking.

Beautiful tiny village with a supermarket. You can buy the boat tickets to Oqaatsut through the Disco Line web-site for 100 DKR (350 DKR/$50) - a bit cheaper than at the office in Ilulissat.

Marked with orange circles, the hike from Oqaatsut to Ilulissat Airport is around 20 km (12 miles) and pretty flat. We started hiking back at around 9 am, and it took us around 6 hours to complete: we stopped multiple times to admire the beauty of ice and snow. The bay, full of huge trapped icebergs, attracts greenlanders to build their summer houses near Oquaatsut.
